Third Annual Backpack to School Bash 2017

IMPACT Texas  host an annual Backpack to School Bash and Food Drive as a Corporation. This is a charitable and educational event with the purpose to prepare students starting the new school year with needed supplies and to remove barriers to academic success.  Annually IMPACT Texas announces a Backpack to School Bash online registration through PeachJar, and on Facebook at facebook.com/impacttexas2015.

 

Having basic supplies has a positive IMPACT on a student’s self-esteem and creativity. This Bash is an exciting and fun way for students to connect with friends and community members prior to the new school year.

We invite underserved students from; Title 1 schools, affordable housing communities, recipients of food pantries, GS Troops, children of military families, and children of incarcerated parents to enjoy a Bash full of fun activities. Where we give away backpacks filled with school supplies. Additionally, students receive toiletry packs, first aid kits, and dental goody bags. Annually we announce a Backpack to School Bash registration through PeachJar, and on facebook.com/impacttexas2015.


Although we may provide services in all Counties in Texas our target Counties are; Travis, Williamson, Bell, and Harris. 


We are promoting our services in Temple, Texas located in Bell County and Houston, Texas located in Harris County. We will provide backpacks filled with school supplies to underserved students who reside in the above counties.   

 

We were delighted to work with the City of Pflugerville during our Bash. The City of Pflugerville Police Department participated in our event by providing a sponsorship exhibit. The Fire Department display their Fire Engine and provide tours for students and families.

 

In 2016 we had many families that expressed a need for food to feed their families. After evaluating the need in 2017 we implemented IMPACT Nutrition where we donate 5 non-perishable food items to families who attend our Bash.

As I was walking in Target one day I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie. After going to multiple stores without luck in finding the "Backpack" request of my daughter, I registered for IMPACT Texas Backpack to School Bash.
