Volunteering brings me so much joy. I was very privileged to be able to have the opportunity to volunteer as a face painter for IMPACT Texas Backpack to School Bash! Being able to connect with each of the children and seeing a smile on their faces means somuch to me. The event was more like a celebration where we were able to provide each child with the necessary resources and school supplies to prepare for this upcoming school year. I look forward to filling more backpacks and having more smiling faces attend the event in the years to come... -- Vashti

This was my third “Backpack to School Bash” working as a volunteer. I must say that each year gets better and better with new sponsors, added displays, increased activities and new attendees. Sometimes you don’t know how to react to parents who express needs that others of us have never experienced doing without in our daily lives. We express community when we give of our time, talent, our abilities to help provide school supplies and donate to the food pantry at the events. This is what volunteering for IMPACT Texas is all about. Seeing the smiles on the faces of children, youth and parents makes me glad. Volunteering is fulfilling! -- Debra
